Pullayouee (U-Turn) is our new campaign movement targeting 16-20 year olds.  Since our target audience has a wide variety of tastes, a short attention span and a keen sense of manufactured messages and posters, U-Turn will deliver its message using non-traditional media and methods.

Because of the technology-savvy nature of our target audience and the unique perspective that they have on the world, U-Turn will live primarily on the Web.

We need YOU and YOUR SADD STUDENTS to serve as ambassadors of this program.  Getting the word out to as many peers as possible to visit (and re-visit) the website, attend events, etc.
We'll be contacting you late summer/early fall with details on how you can help.

Many thanks to Cimbrian, the Lancaster-based marketing agency we partnered with to develop this campaign.
Dear SADD Advisors,
There is so much new and exciting activity coming out of our office, and we can't wait to share it all with you.

The most important development is our new underage drinking/underage DUI campaign.  If you didn't get a chance to see the webinar about this, please visit and view the details (link in left column).  We are very excited about this campaign, and really want to hear your feedback and suggestions, and those of your students, as well.  Read more about Pullayouee.com in the "Featured Article" in the left column.

Thank you for your hard work throughout this school year.  Enjoy your summer, and come back refreshed and ready to Pull-A-Youee!

Sincerely,
Felicity DeBacco-Erni
Executive Director
PA SADD Student of the Year
Stacey Geyer
Stacey GeyerStacey Geyer of Halifax, PA has been named PA SADD Student of the Year. She's also been appointed to serve on the SADD National Student Leadership Council for the 2009-10 school year.  It is notable that not every SADD Student of the Year is named to the Council -- that's a particularly high honor.  Stacey will join 11 other Council members from other states who will represent the hundreds of thousands of SADD students throughout the United States.

Stacey is currently vice-preseident of her SADD chapter "Stand Tall" at Halifax Area High School in Dauphin County, and has been a dedicated SADD student for three years.  She has presented various workshops at the PA SADD Conference and assisted with coordinating the Stylish Promises fashion show.  In addition, Stacey is involved in the student council, band and chorus, and is a member of the National Honor Society.

Stacey has been an exceptional SADD leader in Pennsylvania, working tirelessly to ensure that teens are aware of the perils of underage drinking and other drug use.  We are confident that she will thrive as an educator and an important advocate for teens nationwide.  CONGRATULATIONS STACEY!!!

CAST YOUR VOTE
Just One logoThe York City Police Department (York County) has launched a new underage drinking/underage DUI initiative entitled "Just One," and is asking the public to help choose winning videos and public service announcements.

Students from six York County high schools, most involved in either their school's SADD chapter or a similar organization, took part in the contest by creating either a 30-second radio spot, a 30-second video or a 5-minute video.

You have a great opportunity to take part in the final decision by casting your vote in all three categories.  Voting ends May 11.

If you allow your students to vote, please stress to them the  seriousness of this decision-making process as they will be participating in developing a campaign that has the potential to save lives.
