Greetings SADD
Advisors!
WOW! I am always speechless
by the positive actions of SADD youth,
and the dedication of their
advisors! Last month our state
conferences were held with a total of 948 people
in attendance! What conference would be complete
with out a snow storm at 7-Springs and
a loss of heat in Lancaster? I
am grateful to the advisors and students
who carried on in the snow, and for all the
participants in Lancaster who held high spirits
regardless of the cold! Again, thank you
for your work, dedication and support of our
statewide SADD programs.
As we look to the
holiday season we know you have a number of
things prepared and look forward to hearing
about all of them as we roll into 2009!
We are looking for a PA SADD
Student of the Year and youth to forward on to
the SADD National Student
Leadership Council process. Please
see information below!
We also hope that you will consider joining
us for the DUI Victims Memorial Ceremony to be
held December 11, 2008 in the Victims Memorial
Garden at 5pm. Click
here for more information.
As always, we wish you and your
chapter well and look forward to working with
you throughout the 2008-2009 school year.
Sincerely,
Felicity

ATTENTION:
MONTGOMERY COUNTY SADD 'UNDER 21 TEEN
DANCE' |
|
The PA SADD office has been asked to make
Montgomery County SADD Chapters aware of a local
project that has the potential to benefit the
community, your SADD Chapters, and youth at
large.
The Sunnybrook Foundation is a non-profit
organization working on the renovation of the
Historic SunnyBrook Ballroom to its original
grandeur. They are promoting
an UNDER 21 TEEN DANCE
that will be held every other Friday
night. REVIVE at Sunnybrook will host a
two-part grand opening on December 19 and 26,
and then it will be open every other
Friday. There will be a DJ complete with
a light show and video streams to give it a
'club' atmosphere. Admission is $10 and
there will be refreshments available. A
local security company has been employed to
assure a safe evening for everyone.
The planning committee is hoping to gain
the endorsement of local SADD Chapters to get
the word out to all teens, and perhaps even
establish an event partnership that would
benefit everyone. The committee is asking
for your input and assistance, so you may not
want to miss out on a great opportunity to get
your SADD students involved in planning and
promoting this safe zone for teens to hang
out on Friday nights to enjoy an evening of
fun, music, and dancing in a drug/alcohol-free
environment.
